EXPO – 2020
The World Exhibition “Expo 2020” will be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates from October 20, 2020 until April 10, 2021. It will be the largest exhibition event in the world.
The main slogan of the exposition – is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.
The exhibition is dedicated to the development of innovations and new ideas for creating a better future.
It is preliminary estimated that the event will be visited by about 25 million people from 180 countries.
The official site for the placement of the exhibition pavilion will be a new Dubai Trade Center with an area of 438 hectares, including an exhibition area of 150 hectares, an underground metro station, a shopping center, residential, logistics and hotel facilities.
The pavilion is located close to popular areas. When designing the pavilion, all the principles of environmental friendliness were taken into account; also a system was created that is capable of producing up to 50% of the energy required to hold the exhibition.
One of the biggest exhibition pavilions will be a pavilion of Kazakhstan near the United Arab Emirates, Monaco, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
The organizers of the World Expo launched the program “Expo Live” to fund, accelerate, and promote innovative solutions and inventions.
The Government of Ukraine decided to participate in the World Expo 2020. Particularly, an appropriate coordinating committee has been established to prepare and ensure the participation of Ukraine in the exhibition.
It should be noted that the world exhibitions, which are held by the decision of the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (Paris, France), are the most representative exhibition events in the world. Ukraine took part in such world exhibitions as Expo 2000 (Hanover, Germany), Expo 2005 (Aichi, Japan), Expo 2010 (Shanghai, China), as well as in the international exhibitions Expo 2012 (Yeosu, South Korea) and Expo 2017 (Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan).
In April 2018 (two years before Expo 2020) 150 countries have officially confirmed their interest in the exhibition, and 38 states have signed the Participation Agreement.
